Dog's Day in New York

Yes, for us it was the day for the DOGS! Took a walk down to the Dog Park on Fifth Avenue and 27th Street - a lovely park. There's a restaurant (of sorts) where you wait on line (or is it IN line) for your food and then try to find a table. It was a little chilly for that - but the line was long nevertheless. We bought our lunch at COSI and sat on a bench in the sunshine! Perfect. Beanie begs for her share and Stoli just runs around at the end of her leash barking at any dog that goes by.

After lunch we went into the Doggy Park and off come the leashes.
It's really nice to see all of the dogs and their owners. Everyone loves their dog so much - you can just see it.

Besides my little girls, my favorite today was FRIDA, a black miniature Schnauzer from Montana.
Yes, she was sent from Montana - the young man whose dog it is found her online - he said that she was the runt of the litter. The cutest and prettiest little thing and she kept jumping up so high on her owner.

I really love most of the dogs!
There was plenty of humping going on - it's up to the owner to stop their dog from this behavior and always with so many apologies - but after all, what can one expect with so many gorgeous girls out there! There were also some minor attacks - even Stoli got attacked by another dog today - unusual - but the owner grabbed her dog and removed it from the park immediately!

Obviously Saturday is a big day in the Dog Park - nice that people take one of the two days that they have off to take their dogs out for a good time. It's really nice to see how everyone watches over their dog and is happy to see their dogs romping and playing. I think that anyone who is lucky enough to have a dog to love can't ask for anything more than that!

Tonight we're having dinner with friends - they have a dog too - but their dog is not friendly to other dogs - only gets on with "people" - so Bean and Stoli will stay home and rest!

Tomorrow we'll take them to Tiffany & Co - I have to pick up some things that I brought in for polishing. A nice long walk in the busy city. I'll take lots of photos of the holiday decorations - the city is really pretty this time of the year. I love it!

RIght outside of the dog park are these two trees that have been painted silver - so beautiful!
