This is what it's all about!

Sorry......but ebay is like the laundry - you are never finished! All of my time has to go to listing, listing, listing......so many things happen but the blog, unfortunately, is at the bottom of the list.

Selling to people with 0 feedback is a real risk! Someone with 0 feedback bid on the gorgeous FENDI bag - $630! She actually bid it away from someone else! Did she pay for it? NO! Explain this to me please! Why oh why does someone do this? She ties up the bag for the two weeks while I have to wait for her to pay - I can't offer it to the other person until the two weeks is over and by then the person will have definitely moved on to something else. Many sellers won't sell to people with 0-3 feedback and I can understand why.

On the other hand, these people are new to ebay and they have to start somewhere. Perhaps they should start with items that are $3.99! You know - that is a good idea - their first 10 feedback should all be required to be under $10! That is what they are doing with sellers now. Until you build up GOOD FEEDBACK for selling HONEST merchandise you can't list another item. I wouldn't know this except for the fact that my sister is selling on ebay too and she can only list ONE ITEM AT A TIME! Yes, it should work both ways. Honest sellers AND honest buyers!

Of course I have completely veered away from what I intended to write about..........

I had a really nice VINTAGE - about 25 years old - CHANEL bag listed. Certainly looked good to me! Lots of questions about the bag......but the last question was...."I was told that if there is only Chanel stamped on the inside of the bag instead of Chanel Made in Paris , then it is a fake...is this true?"

I immediately went inside to check my own Chanel bags - all of them purchased either at Bergdorf Goodman or Bloomingdales in New York City over the last ten years. One of them said CHANEL Made in France, the next said CHANEL, Made in Italy, 2 of them said CHANEL with the R (registered mark) and the 5th said CHANEL with the CC Logo underneath. Therefore - there is definitely no set rule which is what I responded to her.

In the meanwhile I did ask the owner exactly where the bag came from and her reply was.....
Dear Barbara
The bag is authentic Channel. It was a gift from my mother and I imagine she bought it in New York. It is about 25 years old. I know for certain it is real. It was my only bag, which I used, until I had others which I will get to you in the future..It is real. Does that help. It really is vintage and an unusal beautiful design. She might have bought it in Europe. She was always buying me beautiful things.
Thanks. Let me know if this is helpful.

I knew that the bag was real but felt that it didn't hurt to ask. I loved her reply - I loved that it was her mom who was buying her such beautiful things - how nice is that?

After the auction - I received this email from the buyer with 0 feedback: "Hi, and thank you, you just made my day! I have wanted an old vintage Chanel purse like this for many years and I found it my first day at ebay:) You seem like a serious seller, and I hope the purse is authentic!
The payment will be completed as soon as possible, on Wednesday at the latest.

Nice doing business with you!"

Ahhhhhh!
This is what ebay is all about. When it is paid for the bag will head off to Norway! I wish I could go with it!
