Go figure!

This is the feedback that the gal left me for the Banana Republic Brown Leather Jacket

(¯`'•.¸(¯`'•.¸(¯`'•.¸ WOW + Awesome Seller = 5 HUGE STARS ¸.•'´¯)¸.•'´¯)¸.•'´¯)

Guess she was OK with it after all!

All's well that ends well!

Come on....this is EBAY-not BERGDORF GOODMAN!

Sold this really nice brown leather jacket - perfect condition - really soft leather.....

From a good friend's closet - practically brand new BANANA REPUBLIC Soft Leather Brown jacket. Jacket is in excellent condition - I don't see anything that would have to be mentioned. Nice blazer style - will be perfect for Spring!

It went for $68. a really good value (I think) - jackets like this are pretty costly. The jacket was really in perfect condition. The person who bought it sent me an email telling me how upset she was that the middle button was broken. Well, I didn't see it and frankly, looking at the photos I still don't see it. If I saw that the button was broken I would have mentioned it.

I suggested that she check the jacket to see if there was an "extra" button inside. Usually better items do provide an extra button or two for just this kind of mishap.
I received this email from her: Thanks for getting back to me. Yes, there's a button sewn into the inside lining so it can be replaced. I guess my point is, however, that it's a huge pain for me to have to find the time on my day off to take the jacket several miles out of my way to have someone replace the button! It's not only terribly inconvenient for me, but obviously costs me money. Had I known the button was broken and needs replacement, I likely wouldn't have bid so high on the jacket... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I didn't *expect* to have to fix the jacket and therefore that's where my disappointment comes from. Anyway, it's not the end of the world...

Kind regards,

KIND REGARDS! My goodness - what is wrong with people, she received a pretty expensive jacket in excellent condition for $68! What is the big deal about having to go to the tailor to have the button exchanged? Am I wrong? This is ebay - if you buy something that has been worn - even "gently worn" (I love that expression) do you expect that it should come in BRAND NEW condition? This is what I emailed her back: Good Morning I'm sorry that you have such a problem with this. I really didn't see it - if I did I would have mentioned it. I list so many things and I guess here and there something can be missed. I realize that it is a pain - I feel the same way about things like this - I'm glad though that there was an extra button - that's a good thing. It's a really nice jacket and you really did get a good value. You will have many years of pleasure wearing it, I'm sure. Ebay offers us the opportunity to get things at better prices. The older I get though - the mellower I become - something like this would have made me crazy years ago - but now I do better with things like this. I'm sitting here (I really should be getting ready for work) listening to the news and the sad and terrible loss of these young people and some of their professors - it certainly puts everything else in perspective. You got a great value - it's a beautiful jacket - you will wear it and enjoy it. It was a small error on my part - I love ebay and work hard at it - people are happy to do business with an honest seller. I hope that you will forgive the broken button. Have a good day Barbara
I hope that she will enjoy the jacket - it really is so nice and truly an excellent value. I think it's important when buying on ebay to understand that "gently used" merchandise is indeed "gently used" and NOT BRAND NEW!

Luckily people seem genuinely happy with the things that they buy from me. They get great things at good prices.

Does it mean anything?

I have this really beautiful and totally 100% authentic BALENCIAGA Motorcycle City Bag

It is listed for $950 or $1000 Buy It Now. I'm surprised that it wasn't grabbed up at the BIN price because it is in excellent condition, the color is a discontinued color, it is gorgeous and it is a great value. BUT it wasn't - BUT there are 27 people watching it.

What does that mean?

Ebay shows the seller how many people are watching each of the items that are up for sale. This is a helpful thing. Although it is not always ALL TELLING. You can have ZERO people watching your item and still it can be sold at the very last minute of the auction. My assumption when that happens is that the person who bought it has bought it with AUCTION SNIPER or that they were able to get in there themselves and bid at the last second. Very rarely when you have over 10 people watching does the item NOT get sold. Therefore it's nice being able to see that many people are watching your item and that there is a good chance that the auction will end with a sale.

The strangest thing that has happened though was when I had a Marc Jacobs handbag up for sale and 19 people were watching it! 19 - that's a lot of people - AND then in the end it did NOT get sold. That was unusual. The bag did get sold the next time I listed it.

There are 27 people watching the BALENCIAGA bag - if you were willing to pay $950 for the bag - wouldn't you just BUY IT NOW for $1000? I certainly would. It will be curious to see what happens.

Also interesting will be the little Rosenthal vase - It started at $1.00 and is now at $168.50 - there are 37 people watching it. Can't wait to see how it ends.....

Please check out my other items.....
THANKS!

Auction Sniper

Back to Auction Sniper......
I know that so many of you do not like this - I can't disagree with you - it seems like cheating. BUT it works and sometimes it's really the answer to getting the item that you want for the price that you want.

For many people it might be the ONLY way. If you have a slow connection, there's no way that you can get that last bid in at the last second no matter how much you want to bid. When I had a dial up connection (oh that was the worst) there was no way I could get a bid in at the end no matter what! Chances are I would lose my connection before even attempting to get a bid in. Don't forget - not everyone has the fastest connection. Mine is better now with satellite - but there is no cable where I live - and I wonder if there ever will be. I live in the woods and cable was outvoted by the town years ago. Some people in town are getting service through the telephone (DSL) but only if you live in a particular part of town.......fun! I'm lucky that my satellite connections is as good as it is - the first two years were a nightmare!

POINT - not everyone really has the best internet connection and really can't get that last bid in at the last minute. BUT AUCTION SNIPER can. There they are - right next to ebay - they can get your bid in at the very last second!

The other thing is - you can really forget about the auction. You don't have to be at your computer when the auction is going to end - you can just forget all about it. You make your decision as to how much you are willing to pay for the item - the highest amount - and then you take your chances. It's good because you've made up your mind as to how much you are willing to pay and nothing will make you put in a higher amount. If you lose to someone who was willing to pay more - well, in my opinion - that's fine - you win some - you lose some.

The nice surprise when you check it later is that you probably did win!

There's a book that I want to buy - highest bid $3.00 - it is now .99. We're going to the movies later and wouldn't be around when the auction ends (this would be an auction that I would watch if I were home) so I put it in auction sniper. When we come back from the movies - well, if I win - great - if I don't - fine! I'll bid on another later.......

Sign up - I think it's great, I know - it seems a little sleazy - but there are far worse things than this! Please use my email as the person who recommended you so that I get a free snipe! THANKS! mygirls3@hughes.net

Wetern Union - yes or no?

I don't know anything about Western Union - I guess I remember Western Union from when I was a kid - boy - if someone received a Western Union telegraph - well, I think the fear was that it was going to be BAD NEWS! Then as I got older - it had a better reputation - you would receive a telegram on a birthday or holiday! Remember what they looked like? With the lines of type that looked pasted on the paper? Things you might have saved in a scrapbook having received one for a special occasion. At some point Western Union might have been used if you needed money - I certainly never ever sent a Western Union telegram to anyone - and probably thought that they were no longer in business.

Somewhere along the line though I did become aware that Western Union was still in business. I was going to buy something from someone in China and he asked me to send the money via Western Union. When I looked online - there it was - Western Union - major site - and I went ahead to try to make my payment. Lots of information to fill out - it took lots of time - then when I was finished I got a message telling me that I had to call them to complete the payment. I called and spoke to someone who wanted to know if I knew the person personally - NO I did not, I said and the person told me that I could not make the payment! That seemed strange to me because why would they care if I chose to take my chances? I guess there are things about this that I just don't understand.

I don't remember how the payment actually got made - but that was my one experience with Western Union.

The other day someone from Russia asked me if I would take Western Union for an item that I have listed on ebay. I thought "why not" - and told her that if Western Union were to send me the check and if the check cleared the bank I would send the package. I did not hear from her again but I did receive this comment from another ebayer.....

Hi, I saw your response for a western union.. ebay says don't take western union..you'll be ripped off by thieves. Be very careful.. don't send anything with out verification from a bank.. and or pay pal. I almost lost an 800 dollar necklace due to fraud with western untion. JMHO. :) Rox

So - I thank ROX - and won't take Western Union. I learn something every day! I really don't understand why it should be a problem if you receive the check and wait for your bank to let you know that the check has cleared before you send out the item.

The psychology of it!

I just don't know - is it really a good thing to list something for $1 and see just how high it can go? Does it attract so many more people? Perhaps it does........

Let's watch this little vase and see what happens.........Rosenthal Vase

I listed a really beautiful Georgio Armani black suit - with a gorgeous black and white silk blouse that matched the lining of the suit. The suit was purchased at Bergdorf Goodman and was in 100% perfect brand new condition. Knowing who it came from - it probably was either never worn or worn ONCE! At least a $2500 suit plus the cost of the blouse. I started it at $9.99 (oh my goodness!!!) and it went for $162. Now YES, the buyer did get an amazing deal - BUT the thing is - Armani does not seem to do so well so ebay. It's also hard to buy a suit - all of the measurements, etc. But believe me this gal got a fantastic deal.

The following week I listed another amazing Armani suit (this woman buys a lot of
Armani and then doesn't seem to wear it) - I listed it for $199.99 and no bites AT ALL! Now I have another one up - starting at $9.99 - of course it was bid on immediately and we'll see how it does Armani Suit at $9.99.

I will relist the other suit at $9.99 next week and then of course it will go. The thing is - this woman does not want these suits - they're gorgeous - beautiful fabrics, beautiful stying, etc. For the gal who got it at $160. - well, she did get an amazing deal - but the suit will be worn and enjoyed - isn't that better than it just sitting in someone's closet? I think so - someone will wear it and enjoy it. She'll wear it knowing that she got an amazing deal and that she bought it from an honest ebay seller! Sounds good to me!

So - it works both ways - sometimes something sounds "TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE" and you really have to watch that! On the other hand - there are really good values on ebay - look for them - you'll be able to get something wonderful. I have bought some great Shirin Guild outfits (brand new with tags) for $70! An outfit like that sells for $1600-$1800! With tags, no less! How good is that!!!!! But when you're looking at a Vuitton that is going for $1 - watch it - we know that there are lots of fakes out there! Shirin Guild - no fakes!

Remember my advice - check the feedback, check the items that the seller sells - just be careful! People like doing business with me - they come back again and again - because they know my reputation and the type of items that I sell!
